My Estate Life Load Shedding Notifications to Residents

Dear Houghton Residents,

The Houghton Management Office is changing the approach to sending Municipal Power Outage notifications to residents due to the increased frequency of load shedding, combined with the short notice changes to Stages of load shedding.

Residents will receive My Estate Life notifications when COJ Power does not return as scheduled, with updates sent once information on COJ restoration becomes available.

Notifications are currently sent between 8:00 and 20:00, however urgent notifications might be sent outside of these hours.

The Management Office recommends that residents download their preferred load shedding app from their app store in order to stay up to date with the latest load shedding information.

  • Load shedding notifier

You can also get the info straight from City Power or Eskom:

When you have selected your preferred app, The Houghton falls under Zone Houghton Estate (9) on these apps and Schedules. You can download these apps on your device where you download all your other apps.
